How is Sapience Med different from a cloud AI scribe?

Sapience Med is not an AI scribe. It is offline medical dictation: speech recognition runs 100% on your laptop, with no audio, transcript, or PHI ever leaving your device.

Questions clinicians actually ask.

Is Sapience Med HIPAA compliant?
Sapience Med runs 100% on your device. Audio, transcripts, and patient content never leave your laptop. Because we never receive PHI, Sapience Systems LLP is not a HIPAA Business Associate — there is no BAA needed because there is no Business Associate in the loop.
Does Sapience Med work with Epic, SimplePractice, or TherapyNotes?
Yes. Sapience Med types into any focused text field on Mac or Windows — including SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, Sessions Health, Athena, Epic, Apple Notes, Microsoft Word, Gmail, and Google Docs. No EHR integration is required.
Does Sapience Med use ChatGPT or send my audio to the cloud?
No. Sapience Med uses on-device speech recognition. There is no cloud audio, no AI summaries, no server-side transcription, and no audit trail of patient sessions. The app does not record sessions and does not generate clinical content on your behalf.
How accurate is medical dictation for psychiatric notes?
